A rental must be free from mould and damp caused by or related to the building structure.
What we check
Visible mould is photographed room by room, and stained walls and wet area walls are checked with a moisture meter.
Common causes
Exhaust fans venting into the roof, leaking showers, water getting in under external doors and gaps in cladding.
What to fix first
The cause. Cleaning mould without fixing the leak or ventilation only delays it coming back.
